Harry Houdini

Several new Houdini biographies have been announced – but all of them seem to have got their facts wrong.

Francis Lawrence is directing a new biographical film of Houdini for Sony, Dreamworks have a movie about the friendship between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Houdini, Summit have a film based on the book The Secret Life of Houdini while finally Aaron Sorkin and Danny Elfman are producing a Broadway musical based on his life.

But all are likely to end with his death in 1926.

As more of SOE’s files become declassified, more will be revealed…
